In June 2011 Australian floral designers travelled to compete at the World Association of Flower Arrangers 10th World Flower Arranging Competitions in Boston USA.
With floral designers travelling from all corners of the earth and representing countries such as Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malta, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Sultanate of Oman, The Netherlands, Trinidad & Tobago, UK and the USA - a floral feast of diverse designs awaited fellow floral artists and admirers of this art form. The following designs were staged by Australian Floral designers attending WAFA/USA:
1ST PLACE
Maxine Webb (Victoria) awarded a 1st place for her design staged in the Impose Class titled 'Birds'

Eileen Wenn was awarded a Mention in a Class titled 'Birds'
Judith Little and Cecily Rogers were awarded a 'Mention' for their design in the 'Storm' Class
Madhu Shah was awarded a 'Mention' for her design in the 'Glass' class
Angela Lewis was awarded a 'Mention' for her design in the 'Electricity' Class
Dianne Buckles staged a design in the class titled 'Magic'
Norma Gordon staged a design in the Miniature Class titled 'Candy'
Penny Brunning staged a design in the Impose Class titled 'Stones'
Jean Shine and Helen Bignell staged a design in the special Impose Class titled 'Music' (where 2 floral designers worked together)
Lynnette Brown staged a design in the class titled 'Electricity'
AUSTRALIAN EXHIBIT (non competitive)
Jean Shine and Pene Brunning created the Australian exhibit staged at this event
Eileen Wenn was one of 5 International demonstrators who provided a demonstration at this event titled 'My Homeland'
