WEST AUSTRALIAN FLORAL ART SOCIETY 2009 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITIONS COMPETITIONS:
The 2009 WA Floral Art Society State Championship for Floral Art competitions were again staged at the Heathcote Galleries in Applecross on the 10th & 11th October 2009.
This event included the 'Open Championship' Class as well as the normal monthly society classes (restricted to members only and these are normally staged at the Osborne Park venue).
These other monthly classes include the Novice/Intermediate & Senior bench classes titled 'Asymmetrical Triangle (D)' (see pg 13 of the AFAA Manual for guidelines) and 'Sunny Days' N/R. Other classes where members can enter competitions are titled 'Minimum Materials-Maximum Impact, Members Choice, 'Flexible Flax' and 'From my Garden ( Plant materials to be sourced from your garden)
These competitions not only
highlighted the talent of floral designers around this state but also provided
an excellent opportunity to promote the WA Floral Art Society and our art form
to the wider community. Everyone who attended this prestigious event thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful exhibits and extended congratulations to everyone who contributed to this event ensuring its success.

Rules:
An
exhibit of ‘Your Own Choice’ staged on a floor space not to exceed
122cm x 122cm to be viewed from the front.
Designs should not exceed a height of 244cm from the floor. Exhibits in this class had to be constructed onsite under 'competition rules'
The following classes were restricted entry to society members only and were preconstructed and brought to the venue for staging in the allocated times.
