The recent 2008 WA Floral Art Society State Championships for Floral Art Competitions, held on the weekend of the 11th-12th October 2008 at the Heathcote Galleries were a wonderful success.  The Championship class included a wonderful array of designs and members who staged these stunning arrangements are all to be congratulated.   The results of the 2008 State Championship competition are as follows : 

The ‘Interpretative’ class titled ‘Tranquility', seemed to capture member’s imaginations, highlighting their creative talent, with a wonderful variety of designs being staged. Congratulations to Denise Shelbourn on her winning design in this class. 

Subjects such as ‘The Beauty of Proteas’, ‘European Influence Design’, Italian Layered Design-Vertical, ’Foliage & the Members Choice also highlighted many colourful and innovative designs.  Congrats also to Elaine Holden who was awarded the Esme Coops Award for her 1st place exhibit staged in the ‘Italian Layered Design-Vertical’. 

The work was of a very high standard and the viewing public were most appreciative of the diversity of the 65 designs staged - with everyone guaranteed to find that ‘special design’ they were inspired by. 

A Very special thank you is extended to the many members, who staged designs at this annual event, helping to promote Floral Art and the West Australian Floral Art Society Inc. 

Congratulations and thanks again to everyone who competed, exhibited, participated, judged, setup, provided stewarding, provide refreshments, dismantled and cleaned up – your contributions were very much appreciated and extended

  ‘FRIENDSHIP THROUGH FLOWERS’ throughout the weekend.

Competitive classes include  'European Influence Design (D)', 'Beauty of Proteas', 'Tranquility', 'Italian Layered Design-Vertical'  as well as the Foliage class and Members choice sections.   (click on a title to view a Photograph)
