NEW NATIONAL AFAA MANUAL

After many years of research and compilation from representatives of all states around Australia, the new Australian Floral Art Association National Manual is now available.

With the release of this much awaited National Manual the West Australian Floral Art Society Handbook, Standards and Classifications and other documentation are now obsolete and all qualified Floral Art Judges and floral designers around Australia will be exhibiting and judging under the same national guidelines as documented in this Manual.

This Society considers it extremely important for all floral designers to be fully aware that new National standards now apply. Judges trained under the direction of the WA Floral Art Society and recognised by the Australian Floral Art Association (AFAA) and the World Association of Flower Arrangers (WAFA), will now be assessing designs under the guidelines documented in this national Manual and while judges from this Society will continue to respect ‘local rules’ when assessing at floral art competitions we believe that all clubs must should be aware of our new Judging criteria.

The price of the AFAA Manual is $30.00 and includes the following :

1 two ring binder with ‘inside pocket’

Comprehensive AFAA Manual documentation including a diverse array of information on: -

‘Artistic Design’, ‘Elements of Design’, ‘Principles of Design’, ‘Colour’, ‘Design Styles (including Period, Traditional, Non-Specific Designs, European Influence Designs and Techniques, Italian Designs, Contemporary Designs Trends and Techniques, Table Designs, Baskets, Wired Work, Diagrams etc), ‘Interpretative Designs’, ‘Junior Exhibitors’, ‘Church Flowers’, Plant Material (including Definitions, Conditioning and Care of Plant Material, Drying and Preserving Plant Materials), ‘Mechanics’, ‘Floral Design Terms A-Z’, ‘Judging’ (including Responsibilities and Ethics, Assessment, Contemporary Floral Designs, Interpretative Designs, Wired Work, Disqualification, Local Rules, Withholding Prizes, analysing, Point Judging System), ‘Duties of Stewards’, ‘Schedules’, ‘Hints for Exhibitors’ (including Common Faults to Avoid), ‘World Association of Flower Arrangers’, ‘Recommended Reading List’ ‘Bibliography’ and a comprehensive ‘Index’.
