Fundraising Floral Demonstration provided by UK Floral Artist EILEEN GILL

The WA Floral Art Society held a very successful fundraising event, where talented UK floral artist, EILEEN GILL provided a floral demonstration on Saturday the 28th February 2009, titled : Moments of Passion & Delight’.

Guests were entertained by Eileen who provided an informative demonstration and delighted guests with stories of her travels demonstrating around the UK.  Eileen is a lover of flowers, keen floral designer, competes at National competitions, is an ‘Area Demonstrator’ and Chairman of the Isle of Man Flower Clubs Group.  In 2006 Eileen was the Team Leader and designer at Hampton Court, where her team was awarded a Gold medal.

After the demonstration guests were treated to an 'English' themed Devonshire Tea, with committee setting up tables of fine china - much to the delight of guests.

This society is very grateful to Eileen for providing this Demonstration for the West Australian Floral Art Society and the flower arranging community in Western Australia.  Funds raised from this demonstration will go towards funding the 4th Australian Flower Convention to be held in Perth in 2010.

Thank You Letters :

The following letters and emails were received in response to Eileen's demonstration....Again a very big thank you to Eileen for her wonderful contributions:

I just wanted to thank you for an amazing afternoon on Saturday. The demonstration by Eileen Gill was amazing and the afternoon tea was superb. I know the committee went to a lot of work organizing the whole event. And to part with your best china for a little while must have been a bit scary!   Thanks again for everything!  Looking forward to the next one!

It was a fantastic afternoon, Eileen's demonstration was a wonderful journey of her flower experiences and the sense of friendship and excitement was beautiful.  How special did we feel enjoying our Devonshire tea at the beautiful tables.  Congratulations to everyone who worked hard to create the special ambience for the day. Can we do it again one day ?

I greatly enjoyed last Saturday afternoon for the wonderful demonstration by Eileen Gill and her discussion on various topics as she went about her work.  The afternoon tea was just so special with great care and attention to detail from all the committee for those wonderful tables.  Scones and jam and cream – well that was just something that had been an anticipation prior to the day and lived up to the memory of the last time we enjoyed that treat at the “Afternoon by the Sea”.    The stalls were wonderful and the work involved to set them up was really appreciated by all the members I am sure.
