'AT HOME' Meeting June 2003

WA FLORAL ART SOCIETY INC 'AT HOME' 2003 Meeting

The West Australian Floral Art Society Inc held a very successful floral afternoon on Saturday the 14th June 2003, where invitations were extended to floral art clubs, fellow flower arrangers, guests, family and friends to share in a special mid year meeting titled 'AT HOME'. The staging of the Societies annual Members Championship competitions were also conducted during this meeting providing a 'Floral Feast' of textures, forms, patterns and colours showcasing the floral talents of members from this Society.

A special demonstration titled 'JOURNEYS' was conducted during the 'At Home' meeting by talented florist and floral artist Fernanda Cook.

Fernanda Cook assisted by Debbie Skroza and Dianne Buckles took members and guests on a journey through the highs and lows of life. During this journey the large audience were provided with an insight into the interpretation surrounding these designs. The following provides a short tour of arrangements staged during this demonstration:

The Hands of the Universe' - Birth to Early Childhood Years

Direction' - The Teenage Years

'Establishment' - The 30+ Years

'The Merry Go Round of Life' - The 50+ Years

'Enlightenment' - The Autumn Years

'Bridging' - 'The Wise, Learned and Appreciate Years'

A diverse array of designs from very tall structures to compact bowls provided a wonderful display for an appreciative audience.
